Hello everyone and welcome to Silver Sanity's 'Song of the Week'. Every week I will choose a new song that I just love! And tell you about it. Duh!

Week beginning 4th November - 'Crash and Burn' by Busted
This song comes from Busted's debut album, titled 'Busted'. It hasn't been released as a single, but it is such a great song! While most of their songs are more pop-punk, this song has a slight hint of rock... evident in the opening bars of heavy guitar playing! A great drum beat too. Sadly, the lyrics 'I asked her to dance at the disco' make it sound more of a pop track but that really doesn't destroy the brilliance of the tune. A great track to sing along too, and if you enjoy embarrassing yourself, a great track to pretend you are Busted and play a make-believe guitar.

Week beginning 11th November - 'Sk8r Boi' by Avril Lavigne
Not only a song, but a whole story, with very catchy lyrics and rhythm. As soon as I heard it on the radio for the first time, I wanted to jump up and down! I borrowed her album of a friend just for this song! It's all about a girl who rejects this boy because her friends don't like his baggy clothes. Then, when he becomes a superstar guitar player, all her friends decide they like him after all... but it's too late for her. Ha ha. Considering Avril wrote this song herself, it is absolutely excellent. At a radio near you.

Week beginning 18th November - 'The Song of the Wood-Elves As They Leave Middle Earth and Head For The Grey Havens' from The Lord of the Rings : The Fellowship of the Ring 4 DVD Special Edition
I don't actually know the words or the title to this song, but in the added scenes of LOTR : FOTR Sam and Frodo hear it when journeying to Rivendell. It is night, and the wood elves are glowing in the darkness of the wood... as they process, singing, to the Grey Havens to leave Middle Earth forever. It is the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my life - the tune is so capitivating and the notes so sweet and harmonious. I wish this featured on the soundtrack, but it doesn't. Definitely worth buying the 4 DVD Special Edition for, let me tell you!

Week beginning 23rd December - 'Sacred Trust' by One True Voice
OK, they didn't win Popstars: The Rivals in the 'battle' for number one and they may sound like a Westlife tribute band, but they do have good voices and this song is SO ANNOYINGLY CATCHY! I bought the single for my sister for Christmas, and she played it, like the whole of Christmas day... the chorus has really stuck in my mind. A pretty good song. Go buy!

Week beginning 10th March - 'Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous' by Good Charlotte
I feel Good Charlotte should be given a place on this page. My friend, Ayesha, is obsessed with them and so I downloaded this song... and it officially rocks! It's got this seriously catchy sing-along tune and a really cool video (with fit Billy shots, even though his hairstyle isn't that great). The lyrics are totally true and the guitar bits sound sooo cool. Love it.

Week beginning 31st March - 'Thank You Mom' by Good Charlotte
Sorry, another GC song. But since my friend lent me her album, I've become addicted! Thank You Mom is a bonus track on their first album, and to hear it you have to keep on listening to number 13 even when the song has ended. Thank You Mom is a beautiful tribute to the twins mother and it's such a lovely song with a really catchy tune. It's quite ballady in a GC way but not soppy. I LOVE IT! This is the kind of song I would want a guy to write for me. Only not about their mum, obviously!

If you would like to submit a song for consideration for 'song of the week' then email it to me! It will not win if I have never heard it, sadly.
